ISUZU NPR SUSPENSION
Isuzu NPR trucks are notorious for being quite unforgiving on the front suspension.

This is due to only have around 25-30mm of Suspenion travel before the bump stop on the chassis buttom's out on the axle housing, causing a very jarring and uncomfortable ride. From our testing the Suspenion would need a minimum of 50mm of room to move for every day driving on main roads and up to 70mm for very rough roads.

Our upgrade kit raises the front of the truck to increase that bump stop gap from 25mm to 75mm. This means with the average 50mm of travel needed, the Suspenion should have full range of movement with out contacting the bumps stops making for a much more pleasant driving experience.
Being a cab over axle design, you will still feel a lot of up and down motion, unfortunately the upgrade will not turn your truck into a Bentley limo, but it will massively reduce the jarring ride and be far more pleasant over the bumps thanks to high quality dampening and spring travel.
Our upgrade lift kit consists of custom made front leaf springs, made to our specification by increasing the wrap and thickness and length of the main leafs specifically made to lift the truck two inches and very importantly using the Standard factory front shackles as you can not legally change spring shackles on a vehicle registered as a car/light vehicle in Queensland.
The springs are optimised in length for ideal shackle angle to improve comfort while raising the truck to increase the gap from the chassis to the bump stop.
The second reason we raise the front of the NPR truck is to increase front wheel and tyre area to allow for upgraded larger wheels and tyres either a Super Single conversion or the installation of Isuzu NPS larger wheels and tyres.
The super single conversion is to allow the use of All Terrain tyres all round but specifically for the back of the truck, to remove the dual wheels with high way tyres that are terrible on wet roads or loose surfaces and horrendous on wet grass. All terrain tyres massively improve the usability of the light truck on work sites and dirt roads plus add to the improved comfort factor.
The ONLY shocks absorber dampeners we recommend and offer in our kits are the King Mono-tube (IFP) Internal floating piston Shock absorbers and the King remote reservoir adjustable dampening shocks.

KING shocks are world renowned for being the best of the best, proven durability and reliability in the harshest of conditions from competition off road desert racing trucks and buggies to the tuffest terrain beating vehicles.
We do not offer a cheaper lesser quality shock for one simple reason, King shocks will last the test of time and are 100% completely serviceable and rebuildable compared to other brands that are lucky to last 2 years and are not repair or serviceable.
We highly recommend changing shocks all round to ensure best composure and dampening not just the front but rear shocks are a preference not a requirement unless also raising the rear.
Rear upgrade springs are also available for the NPR trucks but they generally do not need upgrading unless the truck is running extremely heavy weight on the rear as the trucks all have pretty much the same rear suspension across the range from the 4.5 tonne to the 7.5 tonne truck.
If you opt to upgrade the rear springs on a light truck it will inherently raise the rear of the truck considerably.
Pricing
-Front springs are $1850 for the pair.
-New U Bolts to suit the front spring are $90 each, 4 required.
-King Monotube IFP Shocks are $1200 each. $2400 fronts only.
Plus delivery freight to us which is generally around $160
Parts total for front shocks and springs only around $4800
Plus $2400 for additional rear shocks.
Installation at CRG is around total 6 hours for the front and total 7 hours for front plus rear shocks.
Alignment
The truck will also most definitely need a wheel alignment, we recommend and use Big Wheel and Tyres In Molendinar for all truck alignments.
A standard alignment costs around $500. But.
From factory the trucks have pretty bad front camber which causes excessive tyre wear.
If the truck is new and has not had a camber correct already done, then it is likely to have bad front tyre wear and a camber correction will be needed on top of the alignment, re shimming the front can range from a few hundred dollars extra or up to $1800 in total if the front beam axle requires more than just shimming and needs to be bent to suit.
NPR 4.5 tonne trucks Only.
Once the front of the truck is raised you have the option to do a super single conversion, remove the factory dual rims at the rear and run the single wheel with All terrain tyres. The smallest all terrain tyre you will be able to get with a tyre load rating of 121 or higher will be a light truck rated LT265/70/17. You cant go lower than 121 other wise the tyres will not be rated to the weight of the truck.
The Super single steel 17 inch rims are $740 each, most customers go with 5 so you have the spare as well.
Single conversion wheel nuts are required at $360 for the set, noting one side are reverse thread.
Tyre wise, we do not supply tyres so it is vital to ensure the tyre used is the LT rated for Light Truck with a 121 weight rating which is enough for the 4.5 tonne GVM. Other wise they will likely be a light vehicle 114 load rating which will not cover the pay load required for the rear axle of the 4.5 tonne trucks.
If you have a 5.5 tonne or higher truck, you wont be able to use the 32 inch tyre mentioned above. You will need 33 or 34 inch tyres for the load rating, but they wont fit on an NPR with out cutting wheel arches and mud flaps or unless the truck is raised even more.

We suggest looking at the Nitro Ridge Grappler 32 inch Light truck all terrain LT265/70/17 with the 121 rating, or Mickey Thompson Baja Boss and Falken Wildpeak AT3 in the same LT265/70/17 with a 121 rating. All three tyres are exceptionally quite and very good off road, the Falken and Micky T are better in the Wet that Nittos.
Please note we have not yet received final approval from Queensland transport regarding legalities of the super single conversion. As there currently are no laws to approve the 2WD Isuzu trucks like there is for the 4WD variants we are yet to be able to get the trucks mod plated to suit. While the trucks are the same vehicle in 2wd or 4wd form, only the 4wd versions have ADR approval and mod plate available.
We can also just supply parts only, can be freight etc, being heavy goods will have to go on a pallet due to the size and weight of the leaf springs. Pending where you are freight for pallets can be $100-800 as an estimate
Isuzu Ultra tuff rear Lower Shock Mounts
In 2025 we were commissioned to make ultra heavy duty lower shocks mounts for the rear of the Isuzu NPS trucks. The factory lower mounts are renowned for tearing off the diff housing leaving the shocks dangling which can then cause catastrophic damage to the shocks and upper mounts too.

Our new ultra duty mounts completely replace the standard mounts. The standard ones must be cut off and the welds on the diff housing ground away, our mounts go on in the same location bracketing over the top and the bottom of the housing with central supports.
Photos Show our weld on 10mm thick laser cut, key way reinforced and braced mounts that are welded to the chassis. These must be installed by a highly experienced welder, short welds to the top and bottom of the housing and must only run along the horizontal plane on the front and back to ensure the housing is not warped from heat.
Once welded they are black coated with high impact resistant under body paint before the shock is refitted with the supplied heavy duty bolt and nut.
These are not currently listed on the website. Please contact us to order. Priced at $330 for the kit and around 5 hours to be installed.
If your truck requires new TOP mounts a well from damage, we recommend the genuine Isuzu replacement. The original mounting will have to be ground off as it is riveted on and the new one Bolted into place.
